Scott Cooper was born on the east coast of South Africa in a town called East London before moving to Cape Town with his family at the age of 12. Scott first played Joseph in a nativity play when he was six years old, and continued to be in the annual school play up until he finished high school. He traveled and worked in Europe after school for a few years, and then returned to Cape Town to study acting at the award winning South African School of Motion Picture and Live Performance (AFDA). He has also trained under award winning actress Aletta Bezuidenhout at the Screen Actors Studio. He has worked with director Uwe Boll on the film Tunnel Rats and Far Cry. He as also worked with award-winning Shamim Sarif on her debut film The World Unseen which had its world premiere at The 2007 Toronto International Film Festival. He has also featured in a few episodes of Smallville.
