Marshall Jay Kaplan began his career in small roles in film and television in both Canada and Los Angeles. Early days in the late 1970's included time on the Paramount Studios lot - mingling with the likes of cast members from Taxi, Laverne & Shirley, Happy Days, Mork & Mindy and Little House on the Prairie. He eventually began to focus on his love and talent of drawing - primarily as an entertainment cartoonist. As an illustrator, Marshall's history is fascinating. His first published work was at age 14. At age 17, he was the youngest Canadian to have a gallery showing of his celebrity drawings. By age 20, his artwork was in syndication and was seen by 7 million readers weekly.Moving his talents to Los Angeles at the age of 21, he worked for two years within the entertainment community. It was here where his career flourished. Numerous TV (Golden Girls), stage (The Phantom of the Opera) and film productions, along with many celebrities and agencies, were all using his work. As of recent, Marshall has complete drawings for the cast of The Office and Lost.Once back in Toronto, Marshall began to focus on the business aspect of his career. He turned to merchandising and writing. After 5 years, his product line included greeting cards, clothing and an international board game.Marshall's hectic schedule involves writing and illustrating his successful, self-syndicated column "Where Are They Now?", read by almost 5 million North Americans. In addition, Marshall is currently producing top reality television shows.
